Every year, more than 8 million tons of plastic litter travel from land, through our rivers and lakes, and into our oceans. Along the way, it can be ingested by or entangle wildlife. Puffins, whales, sea turtles, river otters, fish, loons and countless other species all over Canada are calling for our help.
Pledge to answer their call and get useful information on how you can keep litter out of nature all year, at home and on your shorelines.
Every year, volunteers for the Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup are finding plastic and other litter across Canadian coasts. But there are actions we can take on both shorelines and at home to help us keep litter out of nature. Together, I know we can make a real difference for our waterways and for wildlife. Nature is calling. It’s time for us to act.KATE LE SOUEF
